G3 Prospects: October Challenges
It's hard to believe the NHL playoffs are over, but with the Tampa Bay Lightning hoisting the Stanley Cup last night in Edmonton, all eyes have turned towards EA Sports and the upcoming release of NHL 21.
September was full of firsts for the G3 Prospects program and we couldn't be more excited with the results. We had a blast sponsoring the Northern Arena NHL 20 Cup and can't wait to see what's next for the 6's scene. We're really proud of our G3 Team members Scheckel, Revvy, Perrilyzer and TheCreasePolice for their performances, as well as the handful of G3 Prospects that competed in the NA Cup as well. That includes Charyzen, who earned our first-ever Tournament MVP award!
Shifting gears to October, we're excited to announce the Monthly Challenges, both of which benefit the October Saves Goalie Challenge. Every year, The Goalie Guild helps raise funds and awareness for the cancer-fighting charity event, dating back to 2017. But what's so exciting about this year's fundraiser is that, for the first time ever, virtual goalies are allowed to participate!
Be sure to view the walkthrough video above (or on our YouTube channel) and follow the instructions in order to participate. Remember, not only are you eligible to win the October Saves prizes, but you can also earn additional prizes from G3 as well. The steps you take to participate are really simple:
- Register on OctoberSaves.org
- Collect pledges from friends, family, and followers
- Tally your saves on their website all month long
- Earn prizes for total $$ raised
This challenge is run through October Saves, so we adhere to all of the rules and regulations set forth on their website. If you are currently living outside of North America and want to participate, contact Goldy or Jonlol on Discord and we'll set you up with a way to participate.
Our second Monthly Challenge in October is called the Pink Pad Bracket Contest. This is going to be tons of fun; not only are we donating $1 for every pink pad setup submitted through our website during the month of October, but we're also running this classic bracket contest alongside the fundraiser.
So get those design hats on and start grinding out as many solid pink setups as possible. The more you submit and design, the more money we raise for October Saves and the more likely you are to have one of the setups get selected for the Top-16 bracket contest!
While we are not announcing the official prizes for this challenge until October 1 (Thursday), rest assured we'll have some good ones! The exact dates for the bracket contest will also be announced on October 1. We expect the contest to run during the final two weeks of October, possibly into the first few days of November. All details and deadlines for the Pink Pad Bracket Contest will be posted on our website and in our Discord server.
Finally, once NHL 21 is released, we will be hosting a variety of charity streams to further benefit October Saves. This will not be tied to either of the Monthly Challenges, but will be a great way for G3 Prospects to get involved, raise awareness for a good purpose, and bring some more visibility to your goaltending skills! More details on these charity streams will be available when NHL 21 is out.
Thanks again to everyone involved in our G3 Prospects program for the successful launch and good luck to everyone participating in our Monthly Challenges during October! As always, reach out to us in Discord if you have any questions.
